IIT Delhi regularly invites applications for Non-Academic staff to support its research and administrative functions. As of February 2026, the institute has recently concluded a major phase of result declarations for previous cycles and is preparing for new notifications for Technical Assistants and Junior Assistants expected in the first half of the year.

Common Positions & Qualifications
Recruitment is generally categorized into three groups based on pay level and responsibility:
• Group A: Level 10 and above (Registrars, Senior Medical Officers). Requires Master's + relevant experience.
• Group B: Level 6 to 9 (Technical Officers, Junior Superintendent). Requires Bachelor's degree + 2-5 years experience.
• Group C: Level 2 to 5 (Junior Assistant, Technical Assistant). Requires Bachelor’s degree/ITI/Diploma.
Selection Stages at IIT Delhi
For most Group B and C posts, IIT Delhi follows a rigorous three-tier selection process:
1. Tier-I (Written Test): A Computer Based Test (CBT) covering General Awareness, Math, Reasoning, and English.
2. Tier-II (Trade/Skill Test): Practical evaluation relevant to the post (e.g., Typing for Junior Assistant, Lab work for Technical Assistant).
3. Tier-III (Computer Test/Interview): Proficiency in MS Office/Excel or a final interview for Group A & B posts.
Note: Qualifying marks are usually 60% in Tier-I, though this varies based on candidate volume.
Syllabus for Written Examination
The Tier-I MCQ paper usually follows this structure:
• English Language: Vocabulary, Grammar, and Sentence Structure (Level: 10+2/Graduate).
• Mathematical Ability: Number System, Percentage, Average, Profit & Loss, and Basic Statistics.
• Reasoning: Puzzles, Direction Sense, Coding-Decoding, and Analogies.
• General Awareness: Current Affairs, History, and Constitution, with a focus on Indian Science & Technology.
• Computer Awareness: Basic Hardware, OS, Internet, and Cyber Security.
Fee Structure (2026)
Application fees are based on the group category. Candidates must pay via the online recruitment portal:
• Group A Posts: ₹500/-
• Group B & C Posts: ₹200/-
• Exemptions: SC/ST, PwD category, and Women candidates are usually exempted from paying the fee.
