Faculty Eligibility & Qualifications
To apply for the post of Assistant Professor (Academic Pay Level 10), candidates must meet the current UGC standards:
• Academic: A Master’s degree with 55% marks (50% for SC/ST/OBC/PwBD) in the relevant subject.
• Mandatory: National Eligibility Test (NET) qualification by UGC or CSIR.
• Exemption: Candidates with a Ph.D. awarded as per 2009/2016 regulations are exempt from NET.
• Foreign Degrees: Ph.D. from a foreign university ranked in the Top 500 (QS/THE/ARWU) is accepted.
How Shortlisting Works (100-Point Scale)
Unlike many other exams, DU Assistant Professor selection is based on a "Screening Score" before the interview:
• Graduation: Max 21 marks.
• Post-Graduation: Max 25 marks.
• Ph.D.: 25 marks (fixed).
• JRF/NET: 10 marks for JRF; 8 marks for NET only.
• Research & Experience: Up to 16 marks total.
Pro-Tip: Shortlisted candidates are called for an interview where the final 100% weightage is given to your interview performance.
Non-Teaching Exam Pattern (LDC/UDC/Assistant)
For roles like Junior Assistant or LDC, the NTA usually conducts a multi-stage process:
1. Paper I (CBT): General Awareness, Reasoning, Math, and English/Hindi (Objective).
2. Paper II (Descriptive): Essay and Letter writing (for higher administrative posts).
3. Skill Test: Typing test (35 WPM English or 30 WPM Hindi) is mandatory and qualifying in nature.
Application Fees (Revised 2026)
The fees are standard across most DU colleges for teaching posts:
• General / OBC / EWS: ₹500 (per application).
• SC / ST / PwBD / Women: No Application Fee (Exempted).
Note: Non-teaching post fees vary by college but generally range between ₹500 and ₹1000 for General category.
How to Apply via DU Rec Portal
All teaching applications must be submitted through the unified UoD Recruitment Portal:
1. Visit rec.uod.ac.in and register with a valid email.
2. Fill in the "Academic" section carefully; your API score is auto-calculated based on these entries.
3. Upload your NET certificate and Ph.D. degree (if applicable).
4. Submit separate applications for each college you are interested in.
