Centralised CLAT UG 2026 counselling is over. The Consortium of NLUs released the fifth and final merit list on 20 May 2026, and the fifth-round seat-confirmation window closed on 25 May 2026 at 2:00 PM. Admissions are now handled directly by individual NLUs.

Over 100 seats remained vacant across NLUs after the five counselling rounds. Each NLU is now filling them through its own spot-admission round, notified on its individual website; candidates with a valid CLAT 2026 score must apply separately to each NLU, and these windows are often only two to three days long.

For the next cycle, the CLAT 2027 notification is expected around mid-July 2026 on consortiumofnlus.ac.in, with registration tentatively from 1 August to late October 2026 and the exam expected on 6 December 2026 in offline pen-and-paper mode. None of these dates is confirmed by the Consortium yet.

NLU Delhi runs its own test, AILET, outside CLAT. The AILET 2027 notification is expected in the second week of July 2026, with registration tentatively opening around 7 August 2026 and the exam tentatively in mid-December 2026. Treat all AILET 2027 dates as provisional until NLU Delhi confirms them.

As a reference point for the cycle just completed, CLAT 2026 was conducted on Sunday, 7 December 2025 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM, and all official brochures, notifications and counselling instructions remain on the Consortium's CLAT 2026 page.
