UPSC declared the Civil Services (Preliminary) Examination 2026 written result on 15 June 2026, with roughly 13,343 candidates qualifying for the Main examination. The result, along with the name-wise list, is available under the What's New section of the Commission's website.

The Civil Services (Main) Examination 2026 time table is out. Mains begins on 21 August 2026 with the Essay paper (morning session only on day one) and runs across two weekends, concluding on 30 August 2026. Check the official timetable for paper-wise timings.

Prelims-qualified candidates had to file the Detailed Application Form-I (DAF-I) for Mains through the online portal, with the window opening on 19 June 2026 and closing in late June. DAF-I submission is mandatory to appear in the Main examination.

The CSE 2026 notification was released on 4 February 2026 for about 933 vacancies, including 33 reserved for Persons with Benchmark Disability. Applications closed on 27 February 2026 after an extension, and Prelims was held on 24 May 2026.

UPSC released the CSE Prelims 2026 admit card at approximately 7:30 PM on May 15, 2026 on upsc.gov.in, upsconline.gov.in and upsconline.nic.in. Candidates can download using Registration ID or Roll Number with Date of Birth.

UPSC CSE Prelims 2026 will be held on May 24, 2026 in two shifts — General Studies Paper 1 from 9:30 AM to 11:30 AM, CSAT Paper 2 from 2:30 PM to 4:30 PM. Both papers are mandatory.
