There is no YASASVI Entrance Test to prepare for any more. The YET, earlier conducted by NTA, has been discontinued, and selection under PM YASASVI is now purely merit-based on the marks scored in the qualifying examination of the previous class. Students apply for the scholarship instead of sitting an entrance exam.

On the National Scholarship Portal, the PM YASASVI Central Sector Scheme of Top Class Education in College for OBC, EBC and DNT Students opened on 1 June 2026 and student applications close on 31 October 2026. Defective-application and institute verification run to 15 November 2026, and DNO/SNO/MNO verification to 30 November 2026.

The school-level component, PM YASASVI Top Class Education in Schools for OBC, EBC and DNT Students, is still listed as NOT YET OPENED on the National Scholarship Portal as of 11 July 2026. Class 9 and Class 11 aspirants should keep checking scholarships.gov.in for the opening date.

PM YASASVI is run by the Department of Social Justice and Empowerment for OBC, EBC and DNT students with family income under Rs 2.5 lakh, offering up to Rs 75,000 a year for Class 9-10 and up to Rs 1,25,000 a year for Class 11-12 in empanelled top-class schools. Registration requires an OTR ID on the NSP portal.
