The Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) entrance is a high-stakes exam conducted by the NTA. Since admissions often align with CUET protocols, the focus is on subject-specific proficiency. You are typically required to attempt a combination of three subjects based on your 10+2 stream (PCB, PCM, PCA, or ABC).
Agriculture (The Scoring Subject): Focus on Agronomy, Horticulture, and Genetics. These questions are usually direct and can be solved quickly to save time for tougher sections.
Biology/Chemistry: NCERT is your bible. 90% of the questions in ICAR follow the NCERT pattern closely. Focus on Ecology and Plant Physiology.
Physics/Mathematics: Generally considered the most challenging. Prioritize formula-based questions first to secure baseline marks.
Ensure you have these ready the night before to avoid "Zero Hour" panic:
| Admit Card | Clear printout with the self-declaration (Undertaking) filled in. |
| ID Proof | Original Aadhaar Card (with photo) or Passport/Voter ID. |
| Passport Photo | One extra photo to be pasted on the Attendance Sheet. |
| Scribe Docs | Valid PwD certificate and Scribe related docs (if applicable). |
Dress Guidelines:
- Wear light clothes with half-sleeves (Full sleeves are strictly not allowed).
- Avoid large buttons, brooches, or pockets.
- Footwear: Only slippers or low-heeled sandals. Shoes are strictly prohibited at the entry gate.
Agricultural entrance exams test your patience. If the Physics section feels impossible, don't let it affect your Chemistry or Agriculture scores. Remember, normalization plays a huge role in multi-shift exams. Stay calm, keep hydrated, and trust your NCERT-based preparation.
