Big News for JEE Advanced 2025 Aspirants!
Great news for students preparing for JEE Advanced! The Indian Institutes of Technology (IIT) have increased the number of attempts for JEE Advanced. Starting in 2025, you can now try the exam three times over three consecutive years instead of the previous limit of two.
Why the Change?
This rule change gives students more opportunities to improve their scores and secure a seat at an IIT. It’s designed to help those who may have faced challenges or needed more time to prepare fully. So, if you need an extra chance, now you have it!
Updated Eligibility for JEE Advanced 2025
- Attempt Limit: You can now attempt JEE Advanced up to three times in three consecutive years.
- Top 2,50,000 in JEE Main: You must rank in the top 2,50,000 candidates in the JEE Main exam to qualify for JEE Advanced.
- Age Limit: You need to be born on or after October 1, 2000 (relaxed by five years for SC, ST, and PwD candidates).
- Class 12 Qualification: You should have completed Class 12 in 2023, 2024, or be appearing in 2025.
How to Use This Extra Attempt to Your Advantage
With an extra attempt, students have a better chance to improve and meet IIT’s standards. Here are some tips for making the most of this additional opportunity: 1. Plan Your Studies Wisely: Spread out your study plan over time to avoid burnout. 2. Focus on Weak Areas: Use your extra attempt to strengthen any areas where you struggle. 3. Stay Updated: Keep checking official updates from the JEE Advanced website to ensure you’re on track.
Conclusion: Make the Most of Your Extra Opportunity
This new attempt limit offers flexibility and the chance to secure a top rank. Use this opportunity to fully prepare, and remember to stay positive throughout your journey. Good luck with your JEE Advanced preparation!

However, if the examination Board of Class XII (or equivalent) declared the results for the academic year 2021-22 on or after September 21, 2022, then the candidates of that Board who appeared for their Class XII (or equivalent) examination in 2022 are also eligible to appear in JEE (Advanced) 2025, provided they meet all the other eligibility criteria.
