The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has introduced a revised process for the recruitment of officers in Grade B (DR) starting from the recruitment year 2015. The exam consists of two phases—Phase I and Phase II—followed by an interview.
The RBI Grade B exam consists of two phases: Phase I and Phase II. Phase I is an objective-type exam with multiple-choice questions (MCQs) covering General Awareness, English Language, Quantitative Aptitude, and Reasoning. Phase II consists of three papers: Paper I on English (writing skills), Paper II on Economic and Social Issues, and Paper III on one of the following optional subjects: Finance & Management, Economics, or Statistics.
The Phase I exam is an objective-type test that lasts for 2 hours and carries a total of 200 marks. It includes questions on General Awareness, English Language, Quantitative Aptitude, and Reasoning.
The Phase II exam consists of three papers, each lasting 1.5 hours and carrying 100 marks. The papers are as follows: Paper I (English - writing skills), Paper II (Economic and Social Issues), and Paper III (optional subject: Finance & Management, Economics, or Statistics).
1. **English (Writing Skills):** This paper is designed to assess the candidate's writing skills, including expression and understanding of the topic. 2. **Economic and Social Issues:** This paper covers topics such as Growth and Development, Economic Reforms in India, Globalization, Social Structure in India, and more. 3. **Finance and Management:** This paper covers the financial system, financial markets, risk management, corporate governance, and more. 4. **Optional Paper (Economics):** This paper covers microeconomics, macroeconomics, international economics, public economics, and India's economy and development issues. 5. **Optional Paper (Statistics):** This paper covers probability, statistical methods, linear models, statistical inference, multivariate analysis, optimization techniques, sample surveys, design of experiments, and more.
Candidates who qualify in Phase II will be shortlisted for the interview, which carries 50 marks. The final selection will be based on the combined marks of Phase II and the interview.
