3. Eligibility Requirements
While the NTA sets a general framework, individual universities may have additional criteria. Always verify with the university's specific brochure.
- Minimum Education: Passed or appearing in Class 12 (10+2) from a recognized board.
- Minimum Marks: Usually 50% aggregate for General and 45% for Reserved categories.
- Age Limit: No upper age limit for the entrance exam, but universities may have their own age policies.
4. Examination Pattern & Subject Selection
The exam is a Computer-Based Test (CBT) divided into three distinct sections. You must choose subjects based on the course you intend to pursue.
Section IA & IB: Languages
Choose from 13 different languages in IA and 20 in IB. Focus on Reading Comprehension and Vocabulary.
Section II: Domain Specific
27 subjects available. Questions are strictly based on the Class 12 NCERT Syllabus.
Section III: General Test
Includes GK, Current Affairs, Mental Ability, and Quantitative Reasoning. Essential for many vocational courses. 5. Preparation & Success Roadmap
With thousands of students competing for seats in universities like DU and BHU, your strategy must be precise.
- Stick to NCERT: For domain subjects, do not look beyond NCERT textbooks. Questions are highly focused on these.
- Current Affairs: Dedicate 30 minutes daily to news for the General Test section.
- Mock Tests: Practice time management. Section II often feels rushed due to the 45-minute limit per subject.
